What is a clinical study?

A clinical study is scientific research designed to demonstrate the beneficial effect of a drug/medical device/food on your health. During the study, you will be assigned a product (active product or placebo or control) to take according to your doctor’s instructions. You will then be followed by health professionals and will be constantly monitored with instrumental and medical tests, and you will often be asked for your cooperation in filling out questionnaires or a daily diary.

The clinical study in which you take part will always be authorized by regulatory and ethical authorities, respecting your safety.

What is an observational study?

Unlike a clinical trial, in the observational study you will be monitored against a therapy or treatment you are already taking according to your doctor’s prescription/recommendation.
The observational study is always cleared by regulatory and ethical authorities with respect to your safety.

What types of clinical trials are currently underway and what benefits are they?

The clinical trials currently underway are inherent in different areas of health and test products such as dietary supplements, foods for special medical purposes, and natural products that work by improving your well-being, increasing your quality of life, and helping with primary prevention by reducing the risk of developing diseases.

What is a placebo and what risks can I incur?

A placebo is defined as a product that is the same in form and appearance as the product being studied but without the active ingredient/active substance.

During the study you may be given a placebo, through taking it you will still not run any risk to your health.

How can I participate in a clinical or observational study?

Participating is simple! If your profile matches the sketches described in our active studies, all you have to do is fill out the registration form. You will be given all the information to be able to propose you directly to one of the clinical centers involved in the research who will schedule a screening visit with you. During the visit you will be given all the explanations necessary to understand the study, assessing your interest and willingness to participate.
