MACULAR DEGENERATION

Visual and cognitive impairment affects many elderly people, worsening their quality of life. Some studies suggest that several organic substances, such as lutein, may decrease the risk of AMD (Age-related macular degeneration) and contribute to cognitive function in older people. This study aims to evaluate whether long-term intake of a lutein-enriched beverage can actually improve the symptoms associated with this condition.
